Will still be on leave through the end of the week, and I had a free morning today. The first stop was at my family doctor to pick up my medical report on the full body checkup I did back in December before we went for the Phuket trip. Was a little apprehensive… just like collecting PSLE, ‘O’ Levels or ‘A’ Levels results… :p . Am glad to say that my report is all clear, and in fact, I’ll managed to improve on my Cholesterol figures! 😀 Awesome!!!!
Had also planned to go cycling after collecting my report. Off to the Punggol Watrefront Park! NParks has really outdone themselves… The Park Connector Network (PCN) reaches out to the Serangoon River, which is just a junction away from my home.
All it takes is a very short cycle through the carpark, past the Catholic Church and across to Florida Condominuim, and I’m at the PCN! Cycling on the PCN is a breeze and very safe. This morning, the conditions were excellent! There was cool wind in my hair, the sun was out, shining cheerily, birds chirping…. ahh….. so relaxing…
Would you believe this is Singapore? And what more.. so close by my place….
NParks has finally opened the cycling subway underneath the main passover. This is excellent. No longer need to cross the road using the traffic lights!
Punggol Waterfront Park is a man-made waterway on the side of Sengkang and Punggol estates…. The PAP spent alot of money on this, and rushed to get it ready before the elections…. you can tell, cos the quality and safety of the sealed cycling tracks leaves much to be desired. They’re working now to correct the problems.
Waterfeature in Waterfront Park…
This bridge may not be pretty, but it allows us to cycle from Punggol to Pasir Ris/Changi in less than 5 minutes!
Covered a total of 18.53km at an easy average speed of 15.89km/hr. 🙂
Great start to the year!
