Update on Dad – 21 May 2006

I’m just waiting for my flight to shanghai at Changi International airport. I had paid dad a last visit at the hospital earlier this morning, as he will be discharged this coming Friday.

As far as improvments go, dad is almost back to normal. Apart from a slightly slower walking style, his slight difficulty in speaking proper sentences, he is “A-O-K”. I’m really happy with the progress he has made in the last 1 month, and am really happy that he is finally coming home after more than two months in the hospital.

We’re busy preparing the house for him now. We’ve taken the opportunity to clear and clean the house in time for him coming home. We’ve removed bulky obstructing furniture so that dad would have clear and wide walkways throughout the house.

We’ve also readjusted our schedules so that we can spend more time with dad and mum. In particular, now that dad is not likely to visit the market by himself, it now falls on me to head out for groceries with dad and mum every fortnightly. I think I’m going to enjoy that.

With this, I’m going to end this update series on dad, but before I do so, let me just end with a final heartfelt thanks again to everyone who has kept us in your daily prayers. we really do appreciate it.

Hi Paul, I will definitely remember you guys. I met Karin at the airport the other day by the way! Her husband was on the same flight as me back from Mumbai! What a coincidence!
